WHAT WE CAN DO
Invest intelligently
Design is 80% concept and 20% production, and a project proposal should reflect that. By making use of open-source web-apps, we reduce labour and provide better functionality; this allows us more time for developing stronger and more innovative ideas, and ultimately for producing higher-quality work.
Deal with real people
We provide a personalized experience for our clients. We are a small firm with a close-knit team, and we intend to keep it that way. This allows for more flexibility than would be found in a larger organization: we can adapt our business hours to fit your schedule; we can change our billing scheme at your convenience; we will remember your name, and your likes and dislikes; and we will take an interest in your business. By forming lasting relationships with our clients, we build a network of talented organizations and individuals, many of which offer services that complement our own. These resources let us take on projects that might otherwise be too broad even for a large design firm.
Build for the future
Once you have a strong concept, you want it to last. The web is changing quickly and it can often be hard to keep up with the latest developments. We code our sites to be compliant with standards developed by the W3C, whose goal is to, "ensure long-term growth for the Web." That means our sites will not only be supported by future browsers, but will be more accessible and often more search-engine friendly. For many of the same reasons, we build on open-source technology. The fact that it is being maintained by a growing global community ensures its longevity. So long as it is useful, someone will be working to improve it. The following is a list of projects that we are familiar with:
- css Zen Garden (Standard-oriented coding style)
- Drupal (Content management system)
- Joomla! (Content management system)
- MooTools (JavaScript framework)
- MySQL (Database server)
- OperCart (Virtual store)
- osCommerce (Virtual store)
- PHP (Scripting language)
- phpBB (Message board)
- SimplePie (RSS parser)
- MediaWiki (Knowledge management system)
- WordPress (Database-driven blog)
